How to Buy VAG SFD Unlock License in Launch X431?

Launch X431 previously only supports VAG SFD security gateway unlock manually. You need to buy SFD unlock token from 3rd party. Check the information in the previous post.

We are excited to announce the release of the onlone VAG SFD unlock function on Launch X431 diagnostic devices, available from May 2025.

Now Launch X431 will unlock SFD gateway online automatically without purchasing SFD unlock token from 3rd party.

How to enable Launch X431 online VAG SFD gateway unlocking?

Compatible devices:

Launch X431 PAD V7 Elite
Launch X431 PAD V
Launch X431 Pro5 Smartlink
Launch X431 Pro3 (Pro3s+ Elite)
Launch X431 Pro3 (V+ Elite)

Need to activate SGW function license. VAG SFD authorization is not available as a standalone purchase; it can only be bought as part of a license package in mall.

Purchase method:

Navigate to Mall-> Other Goods-> European SGW Function License.

For European Users:

Purchase “European SGW Function License” in Mall. ($1,151 + tax).

Contains:

FCA & Maserati gateway license (1 year)
Mercedes Benz gateway license (1 year)
Renault & Dacia (20 connections)
VAG SFD license (1 year)- newly added

For Non-European Users:

Purchase “European SGW Function License” in Mall. ($899 + tax).

Contains:

FCA & Maserati gateway license (1 year)
Renault & Dacia (20 connections)
VAG SFD license (1 year)- newly added

*The authorization is valid for one year ONLY. Need to renew license after expiration.

Non-European users cannot activate Mercedes gateway license on their devices.

If you do not purchase the European SGW Function License, you can only perform the DTC reading, DTC clearing, and some data stream functions.
