Here is the user working experience and tips to clone Audi Simos 8.51 ECU with  Launch X-prog3 .   Trying to clone a simos 8.51 module ( from a 2013 Audi A8 ctub) with the   Launch X431 IMMO Plus   with x-prog3.   You can see simos 8.5 is supported and he successfully backed up the eeprom and flash from the original ecu and loaded it into the donor but the vehicle does not start and has a fault code saying the immobilizer is active and ecu is locked.
