Launch X431 VAG SFD Requires Multifactor Authentication

Important Security Update for Unlocking VAG SFD security gateway of  Launch X431 diagnostic scanners . The Volkswagen Group (VAG) has introduced updated security protocols for unlocking protected functions via SFD (Vehicle Diagnostic Protection). To comply with these standards and prevent any service interruptions on Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, or Seat vehicles etc.,  Multifactor Authentication (2FA) via Google Authenticator  is  now MANDATORY.   Start Date: May 25, 2026 Affected Systems and Software: Every diagnostic device used to activate or unlock VAG SFD gateway.   The New Requirement Multifactor Authentication (2FA) is now MANDATORY as part of the unlocking process and has been added via Google Authenticator. Specifically, a temporary 6-digit verification code must be entered for each SFD unlocking. Access to the ECU is only granted after successful verification. Does Launch X431 IMMO Plus Read VVDI Benz BE Key?

Problem: What BE KEYS do you use to write with   Launch X431 IMMO Plus   X-PROG3? I tried VVDI Benz BE Key and couldn’t read key info. Solution: Xhorse VVDI BE key   green board works.  Xhorse BE Key V4.3T with yellow PCB not working. And also aliexpress cheap one works ( but on those you cannot change frequency). If cannot read VVDI BE green board, try pull up the key a little bit. Sometimes only pcb put in a hole and pull up 10mm.

Launch X431 Pro3S+ HD AutoVin Not Working?

Problem: Tried to diagnose a  Hino truck 2011 using Launch X431 Pro3S+ smartlink HD diagnostic scanner, but autovin failed to decode vehicle information. Any idea? Solution: Heavy duty does not support AutoVIN feature.  Need to select vehicle model and year manually. If manual selection not working, do a firmware Fix and try again.

Launch Creader Firmware V12.12 Update Failed Solution

Problem: The software (BMW V51.66) and firmware (V12.12) have been successfully installed on the   Launch Creader 2.0 BBA   diagnostic scanner. However, when actually connecting to a vehicle or scanning the VIN, the system immediately displays a “Firmware update failed” error message. Also attempted a factory reset, cleared the cache, and used a mobile hotspot to perform a “firmware repair,” but all attempts failed. Solution: The solution goes to other Creader series scanners with firmware V12.12 as well.
