Launch PAD7 PRO 5 VPN Connection for North America, Spain Users

Launch X431 PAD VII, PAD V and Pro5 online programming feature has not been authorized in Portugal and Spain. They added the region limitation to the North America in April 2025.

Some users use the VPN connection to bypass the region limitation. Here is the VPN connection method for users from North America, Spain, and Portugal.

 

NOTE:

1.Connect X431 PAD VII, PAD V or PRO 5 to PC via USB cable.

2.Enter X431 PADVII or PRO 5 Setting->USB Management (see picture 1), close the USB Switch (see picture 2);

3.Slide down the screen, open the drop-down menu (can also be opened through Setting-> USB Preference), select “USB file transfer turned on” (see Picture 3), select “USB transfer” (see Picture 4).

4.Open “My Computer”, select PAD VII, PAD V or PRO 5, and copy your VPN resource (for example “Singapore.ovpn”) into any folder of PAD or PRO 5 (note: remember the path and folder name);

5. Run Google Play Store in X431 PADVII or PRO 5, search OpenVPN Connect and finish installing.

6.Run OpenVPN Connect APP，select the folder which you have saved “Singapore.ovpn” file.

7.Select “Singapore.ovpn” file.

8.Select Connect after import,  select ADD.

9.Note: Allow Compression (insecure) select Full.

10.Upon completing the above operations, please refer to the steps of “online programming activation method” to activate the function.

I have the Launch X431 V+ Pros Mini which I purchased new from obdii365 for $1079. I also have a PIWIS III clone V38.90 that i purchased from another website for $1429. I purchased the Launch X431 V+ with the intent of using it to flash a used control module for my car. When I discovered that the Launch X431 V+ could not do that I purchased a PIWIS III clone with the intention of selling the Launch X431 V+ but I have not got around to selling it yet because it is so much easier to use then the PIWIS III.Here is what I have done so far with each one.
