Launch X431 Unlock European FCA Renault Benz SGW Gateway

A Launch X431 PAD VII user was trying to do special functions on a 2021 Mercedes C class W206 300d DoIP model.  PAD VII failed him and asked to unlock gateway to access.

Solution:

Mercedes-Benz has installed a security gateway module in many new models to protect their vehicle systems from unauthorized access, meaning that unrestricted communication between the diagnostic equipment and the vehicle is only possible with the correct access.

You need to buy license to obtain this access. You can test only the DTC reading, DTC clearing and some data stream functions without license.

 

Go to Mall->Other Goods->Other Software Packages

Purchase the European SGW Function License.

The license will unlock gateway on Mercedes models produced after 2020.

  • Mercedes Benz gateway license (1 year)
  • FCA & Maserati gateway license (1 year)
  • Renault & Dacia 50 connections

*Need to renew license after it expires.

Security Gateway
With the entry Into force of EU Regulation 2018/858, more and more vehicle manufacturers have started to protect access to vehicle electronics via the OBD Interface using so-called security gateway modules. This has an Impact on the previously unrestricted communication between the vehicle diagnostic device and the respective vehicle. LAUNCH Europe GmbH currently offers SGW activation for FIAT Chrysler Automobiles, Mercedes and Renault / Dacia models to enable activation and thus full access to all diagnostic functions again.

In this way, unrestricted vehicle communication between the vehicle diagnostic unit and the vehicle can be realised again and all diagnostic functions can be used in full.

As part of a cooperation agreement with the FCA Group, LAUNCH Europe GmbH enables SGW activation for all vehicle models equipped with Security Gateway technology. In this way, unrestricted vehicle communication between the vehicle diagnostic unit and the vehicle can be realised again and all diagnostic functions can be used In full

Launch X431 V+ or PIWIS-III for Porsche Diagnosis?

I have the Launch X431 V+ Pros Mini which I purchased new from obdii365 for $1079. I also have a PIWIS III clone V38.90 that i purchased from another website for $1429. I purchased the Launch X431 V+ with the intent of using it to flash a used control module for my car. When I discovered that the Launch X431 V+ could not do that I purchased a PIWIS III clone with the intention of selling the Launch X431 V+ but I have not got around to selling it yet because it is so much easier to use then the PIWIS III.Here is what I have done so far with each one.
