Tutorial: How to erase/renew Mercedes Benz engine ECUs: MED17.7. X, ME9.7, SIM271KE2.0, SIM271DE2.0 using Launch X431 tools. It will erase the engine data and become inactive.
Requirements
Equipment requirements
Launch X431 IMMO Plus, IMMO Elite, PAD V, PAD VII etc with X-PROG3 programmer
Software requirements
Mercedes V49.60 and above
Operation steps
Take the MED17.7.X ECU as an example.
Enter the software and click “Theft protection”, as shown in Figure 1
Select Expert Mode
Network is required to download the wiring diagram. Please make sure that the network is well connected and click “OK”, as shown in Figure 3
Connect X431 tool with x-prog3
Click “Engine Control Unit”
Click “Wiring diagram”
Select engine ECU model and check diagram
After the module is removed and connected according to the wiring diagram, click “OK”, as shown in Figure 8
Click “<“, as shown in Figure 9
Click “Completely erase module”
Online calculate erase password function requires network connection.
Display the original engine information before erasing. Click “OK” to begin erasing, as shown in Figure 12
