Tutorial: How to program a new key on a 2022 Toyota Camry US model with mid-level $539 Launch X431 Pro Elite diagnostic scanner!
This is a 2022 Toyota Camry. We are going to program a new non-smart key to this car using the X431 Pro Elite.
We got the original key for this vehicle and want to add a new one.
Let’s go to Intelligent Diagnosis.
It will automatically detect the VIN number, very fast.
It is really good it does a lot of things.
Go ahead and get into the Diagnostic module.
We are going to select the 16 PIN because it is a US model.
Select model year 2022.08-2023.08
Then select without smart key and without EPB.
We’re going to do a whole scan so a quick way to know if your chip is programmed or not.
We have the light flashing right here that’s the security light. Insert the original key for this car and it will turn off right away. It will not flash that means the original key will works.
Then insert the other one, the light will continue flashing meaning the chip is not programmed.
If you lost all keys, the Launch X431 Pro elite can do the all keys lost as well.
We’re going to do a Health report and do a system scan.
Select the immobilizer system.
Select Transponder Code Registration
Follow steps below to register a key.
Step 1
Remove key from the key cylinder
Insert key back into the key cylinder
Turn IGN on
press OK within 120s.
Step 2
Remove the master key from the cylinder within 20s, press OK
Step 3
Insert the key you want to Program within 19 s, then press OK
Do not turn the ignition switch ON.
We see the light continues to flash it’s registering the key.
We just wait until that light goes away mean that the key is already registered into the system.
Register key completed. It takes about 20s to register the key.
The tool will automatically tell us when the key is done registering.
Then we are going to register the key fob.
Go back and enter BCM system.
We’re going to open the switch with the original key right. Go to Special function.
Select Wireless code registration so use this function to register a new key fob.
You’re going to press ignition on Driver door. Open and unlocked.
The remaining number of remotes we register are four and currently we have two keys register so we’re going to press okay.
We’re going to press the lock and unlock button at the same time for about 1 second then we’re going to press the unlock button quick.
There we go it’s already registered so press okay we cancel going to turn off the ignition.
Now we’re going to test the remote.
It is amazing you need to spend a lof of money on high-end scan. I tried $2500 autel the other day and it asked for a code.
This one is just a fraction of the price of that.
