There is the Launch X431 Euro Pro5 which costs almost 3500 euro and another X431 Pro5 which is less than half the price 1500 euro. What is the difference between the two? The cheap one is a clone of the original Launch tool?
Both are genuine Launch X-431 products.

In a nutshell, the tablet parameter is pretty much the same. They perform similar functions. The biggest difference is the VCI box, X431 Pro5 has the new smartbox 3.0, the Euro pro5 has the DBScar VCI.
Pros5 is the upgrade version of X431 V+. It will not do BMW or Mercedes online programming. The device itself does not come with built-in online programming (requires PAD V/PAD VII).
Euro pro5 can do online programming.
The smartbox of Pro5 can be used as passthru j2534 interface for OEM online programming. Euro pro5 DBScar VCI cannot be used as passthru device.
X-431 Pro5 is global version, no IP limitation. Euro pro5 is available at European dealers only.
